03/05/2006: "Trash can w/Ashtray"

This is a project I did for Imo's Pizza. Our bucket full of sand at the front door just wasn't working. Cigeretts and trash just don't mix. Tired of putting out fires we decided that we needed one of those trash cans with the ash tray in top. After looking at the prices of commercial units we decided I could build the trash can for about 1/3 the price.

This is a picture of the completed can. Looks pretty good outside the store huh?

"Personalised" Didn't get this with the $400 can!

Whole thing built around Rubbermaid trash can.

Trash door is on spring hinges so it is allways closed (unless we forget to empty it!)

The door is actually three parts. The Imo's letters were cut from the top layer with a scroll saw and then a piece of mylar was sandwiched between the front and back piece.
